Neuro-Linguistic Skills & Techniques for Educators
Signature Course No. 29 — A Signature AI Socratic Coaching Course.
A New Kind of Learning
Socratic coaching, delivered by an agentic AI coach.
Not a course you watch. An AI coach you work with.
The Lighthouse Coach begins by discovering how you think about the subject, teaches what is missing, and gives you realistic practice before asking you to prove that you can use it. You may test out of concepts you already understand, while capstones turn the learning into a practical plan, decision, conversation, or other real-world result.
The curriculum is deliberately authored; the AI delivers it through coaching. It is not an AI randomly generating lessons.
A coach that teaches by asking — not by lecturing
The Lighthouse Coach is an AI Socratic coach built on Cognosco Learning's Neuro-Linguistic Skills & Techniques for Educators course, in the Professional Development category. It does not play videos at you. It holds a conversation: it asks you a question, listens to your answer, names the misconception it hears, affirms what you got right, and asks the next question — the way a great coach works in the room.
This is the course for teachers, professors, and instructional staff who want to reach every student in the room — in classrooms, lecture halls, and the one-to-one conversations where a student decides whether to trust you with the real question. It works in the order the work has to happen: first, Module 1 — Reaching Students: Rapport, Representation, and Proof of Learning — watch what is actually landing before you teach more, build rapport through language that earns trust and openness, vary how the idea is represented — in words, in image, in doing, in discussion — so more students can get hold of it, use language patterns that increase engagement and motivation, and verify learning by what students can do, finishing with The Lesson That Reaches; then, Module 2 — Running the Room: Calm Authority Across a Long Day — manage classroom dynamics with calm authority, keep that authority steady through the hard moments and the long day, hold the professional boundary while staying warm, and route trouble that exceeds the classroom kindly and the same day, finishing with The Hard Day. You finish by proving the whole course — in The Lesson That Reaches and in The Hard Day. You can type your answers, or talk out loud: the Voice Coach speaks its questions and listens to your spoken replies, hands-free. The course is self-paced and always on — roughly 30 minutes per concept, about 9 hours in full, taken in as many sittings as you like. Learners who already know the material can test out concept by concept.
The fences, stated plainly. The skills are taught as practical craft: things a teacher can do in a room and test in the next lesson — watch what is landing, vary how the idea is represented, check what students can do, keep your own voice calm when the room gets hard. The course does not claim that NLP's theoretical model of the mind is established science, and it teaches nothing that depends on that claim. Learning styles are handled in their honest form: identify what is landing, vary how the idea is represented — words, image, doing, discussion — and verify by what students can do. No student is diagnosed into a fixed learning style or labeled by a type, anywhere in this course. And rapport is held inside a professional boundary that does not bend: rapport is professional warmth, clarity, and consistency — never friendship or favoritism with students — and a student whose trouble exceeds the classroom is routed kindly, the same day, to the school counselor and safeguarding processes.
This is the twenty-ninth course in The Lighthouse Signature Series — the online counterpart to the one-day, in-person training Cognosco Learning has delivered since 2002.

Every learner moves through the same discipline a Cognosco instructor would insist on in the room.
Watch First
The Coach starts by taking an honest read of how you read a room — what you notice, what you can tell is landing, and what you do next as they actually stand. Everyone begins with Module 1 — no skipping the foundations you only think you have.
Learn & Practice
Work each concept in conversation with the Coach — spoken or written — then practice it against realistic situations until it holds up.
Prove
Every concept ends in proof: answer the check cold and demonstrate the skill. Know it already? Test out and take credit immediately.
Capstone
Finish with two capstones — The Lesson That Reaches for Module 1 and The Hard Day for Module 2 — that pull the whole course together, and earn the certificate.

Built for teachers, professors, and instructional staff
Neuro-Linguistic Skills & Techniques for Educators is for teachers whose students sit in front of them every day, professors and instructional staff whose rooms are lecture halls, seminars, and labs, educators early in practice who have the subject and are building the craft deliberately, and experienced teachers who want their instincts named, examined, and sharpened: use NLP to increase student engagement and motivation, identify what is landing and vary how the idea is represented — in words, image, doing, and discussion — then verify by what students can do, build strong teacher-student rapport through language, and manage classroom dynamics with confidence.
The fences apply here, too. The skills are taught as practical craft, with no claim that NLP's theoretical model is established science. No student is diagnosed into a fixed learning style or labeled by a type — you identify what is landing, vary how the idea is represented, and verify by what students can do. And rapport stays professional: professional warmth, clarity, and consistency — never friendship or favoritism with students — and a student whose trouble exceeds the classroom is routed kindly, the same day, to the school counselor and safeguarding processes.
