About This Course
Problems in a team are almost never first known at the top. They are known at the bench, at the desk, on the call — by the person closest to the work, usually long before the cost becomes visible to anyone senior. Whether that knowledge travels is a calculation, made silently by every person on the team, every day: what happened the last time someone here said the unwelcome thing, and what happened to them. This course teaches the leader to change that calculation by changing his own observable behavior. You will learn to read the price of speaking as you set it, to govern the first seconds after bad news, to ask questions you do not already know the answer to, to run meetings where the junior person talks before consensus hardens, to separate a message from its messenger, to use what you hear so visibly that speaking is worth doing, and to be wrong in public without theater. Then you will learn to hold all of it under strain: dissent honored before a decision and loyalty kept after it, standards held higher inside safety, misconduct routed properly, subtle punishments hunted down, and your own bad reactions repaired by name. By the end, you will have a working standard for leading a team that tells you the truth early — while there is still time to act on it.
