Cybersecurity Awareness for Every Employee

Signature Course No. 51 — A Signature AI Socratic Coaching Course.

An agentic, mastery-based AI learning platform.

A New Kind of Learning

Socratic coaching, delivered by an agentic AI coach.

Not a course you watch. An AI coach you work with.

The Lighthouse Coach begins by discovering how you think about the subject, teaches what is missing, and gives you realistic practice before asking you to prove that you can use it. You may test out of concepts you already understand, while capstones turn the learning into a practical plan, decision, conversation, or other real-world result.

The curriculum is deliberately authored; the AI delivers it through coaching. It is not an AI randomly generating lessons.

Meet The Lighthouse Coach

A coach that teaches by asking — not by lecturing

The Lighthouse Coach is an AI Socratic coach built on Cognosco Learning's Cybersecurity Awareness for Every Employee course, in the Risk, Safety & Compliance category. It does not play videos at you. It holds a conversation: it asks you a question, listens to your answer, names the misconception it hears, affirms what you got right, and asks the next question — the way a great coach works in the room.

This is the course for every employee in every role, non- technical staff, remote and hybrid workers, and managers and team leads. It works in the order the work has to happen: first, Module 1 — Seeing the Con: How Attacks Actually Reach You — work through , finishing with The Inbox Audit; then, Module 2 — Data, Devices, and the Bad Day: Habits That Hold and Reporting That Helps — work through , finishing with The Bad Day, Handled. You finish by proving the whole course — in The Inbox Audit and in The Bad Day, Handled. You can type your answers, or talk out loud: the Voice Coach speaks its questions and listens to your spoken replies, hands-free. The course is self- paced and always on — roughly 30 minutes per concept, about 9 hours in full, taken in as many sittings as you like. Learners who already know the material can test out concept by concept.

The fence, stated plainly. This course reduces risk and speeds response; it does not make you, or any company, "safe," "secure," or proof against attack. It is employee security education, not IT policy, and not legal or compliance advice — your organization's own policies govern where they apply. The signature is the course's own: this course works on your real inbox, your real accounts, and your real habits — anonymized. One rule protects that signature, and it is absolute: never bring real credentials, real passwords, or real confidential data into any exercise — change the names, change the figures, keep the shape of the problem. Both capstones produce real artifacts — an audited inbox and a rehearsed, ordered response to a bad day — not just ideas about security.

This is the fifty-first course in The Lighthouse Signature Series — the online counterpart to the one-day, in-person training Cognosco Learning has delivered since 2002.

The Method

See the Con → Learn & Practice → Prove → Capstone

Every learner moves through the same discipline a Cognosco instructor would insist on in the room.

1

See the Con

The Coach starts by examining your real inbox, accounts, and habits — the messages waiting, the sign-ins you rely on, the moments you almost clicked — as they stand. Most attacks do not break in. They are let in — by a busy, helpful person doing a reasonable-looking thing at speed. Everyone begins with Module 1 — no skipping the foundations you only think you have.

2

Learn & Practice

Work each concept in conversation with the Coach — spoken or written — then practice it against realistic situations until it holds up.

3

Prove

Every concept ends in proof: answer the check cold and demonstrate the skill. Know it already? Test out and take credit immediately.

4

Capstone

Finish with two capstones — The Inbox Audit for Module 1 and The Bad Day, Handled for Module 2 — that pull the whole course together, and earn the certificate.

The Course Content

What You'll Learn

Most attacks on ordinary organizations do not begin with a master hacker battering a firewall. They begin with a message that looked routine, a voice that sounded familiar, a sign-in page that looked right, a helpful stranger at the door — and one busy employee who did the reasonable-looking thing at speed. This course teaches cybersecurity as an employee discipline: recognizing the con in every channel it arrives by — email, text, voice, video, in person, and at home — locking your accounts properly with passwords that hold and a second lock that actually locks, handling data and devices with the care their contents deserve, and responding, when something goes wrong, fast and without shame. You will learn the pause that defeats urgency, the verification that defeats impersonation, and the report that turns one person's bad moment into the whole organization's warning. The course works on your real inbox, accounts, and habits throughout: bring real material, anonymized and never carrying real credentials, and leave with those habits rebuilt.

What you will learn

  • Recognize attacks in every channel — email, text, voice, video, in person, and at home
  • Lock your accounts properly — passwords that hold, and a second lock used the right way
  • Handle data and devices safely — what you hold, where it lives, and how you send it
  • Respond and report fast, and without shame, when something goes wrong

Who It's For

Built for everyone an attacker can reach

Cybersecurity Awareness for Every Employee is for every employee, in every role — anyone with an inbox, a phone, a sign-in, or a door they can hold open, which is to say everyone an attacker can reach, non-technical staff — who have sat through technical briefings that assumed knowledge they do not have, and who need the subject taught plainly, in the language of their actual working day, remote and hybrid workers — whose kitchen table is now an office, whose home network carries work, and whose habits at home are part of the organization's real exposure, and managers and team leads — who set the example their teams copy: whether reporting is praised or punished, whether the pause is respected or mocked, is decided by what they do when it costs them time.

The fence and the signature apply here, too. This course reduces risk and speeds response — it does not make anyone "safe," "secure," or proof against attack — and it works on your real inbox, your real accounts, and your real habits: bring real material, anonymized — never bring real credentials, real passwords, or real confidential data into any exercise — and leave handling your actual work differently. The course assumes you use email, messages, and accounts to do your work; it does not assume any technical knowledge.
