PMP Exam Readiness
Signature Course No. 132 — A Signature AI Socratic Coaching Course.
A New Kind of Learning
Socratic coaching, delivered by an agentic AI coach.
Not a course you watch. An AI coach you work with.
The Lighthouse Coach begins by discovering how you think about the subject, teaches what is missing, and gives you realistic practice before asking you to prove that you can use it. You may test out of concepts you already understand, while capstones turn the learning into a practical plan, decision, conversation, or other real-world result.
The curriculum is deliberately authored; the AI delivers it through coaching. It is not an AI randomly generating lessons.
A coach that teaches by asking — not by lecturing
The Lighthouse Coach is an AI Socratic coach built on Cognosco Learning's PMP Exam Readiness course, in the Leadership & Management category. It does not play videos at you. It holds a conversation: it asks you a question, listens to your answer, names the misconception it hears, affirms what you got right, and asks the next question — the way a great coach works in the room.
You work on one consistent set of figures throughout — one candidate, Leila Haddad, and one project, the Fenwick Street Clinic Fit-Out, whose baseline figures are stated once, in Concept 6, and never change, so every earned-value, forecast, and float figure in the course can be checked by hand against the same page.
This is the course for working project managers preparing for a first attempt, managers returning after a failed attempt, agile practitioners who need the predictive core at exam depth, and predictive practitioners who need agile and hybrid delivery as the exam frames it. It works in two movements: first, Module 1 — The Predictive Core and the Exam's Logic — work through Concepts 1–9, finishing with The Fenwick Control Pack; then, Module 2 — Agile, Hybrid, and Exam Execution — work through Concepts 10–18, finishing with The Readiness Plan You Can Defend.
You finish by proving the whole course — in The Fenwick Control Pack and in The Readiness Plan You Can Defend.
You can type your answers, or talk out loud: the Voice Coach speaks its questions and listens to your spoken replies, hands-free. The course is self-paced and always on — roughly 30 minutes per concept, about 9 hours in full, taken in as many sittings as you like. Learners who already know the material can test out concept by concept.
This is an independent preparation course: it is not published by PMI, not reviewed by PMI, and not affiliated with PMI. Where it describes the exam, it reports what PMI published, as published at the time of writing — and if PMI's current handbook and this course ever disagree, the handbook wins.
No real exam question appears anywhere in it: every practice item was written fresh, in the exam's style, teaching the reasoning that produces answers on questions you have never seen. Every number recomputes from stated inputs. Readiness here is built and defended on evidence; no outcome on the day is promised or guaranteed.
Both capstones produce real artifacts — a complete predictive control pack for the Fenwick Street project, and a full exam-readiness plan you defend in writing — not just ideas about preparation.
This is the one hundred and thirty-second course in The Lighthouse Signature Series — the online counterpart to the one-day, in-person learning Cognosco Learning has delivered since 2002.

Every learner moves through the same discipline a Cognosco instructor would insist on in the room.
Diagnose
The Coach starts where the course starts: with the exam as published, not with your workplace's habits. The exam tests a published frame — three domains, predictive and agile delivery, and a situational logic that assesses before it acts — and every result is read back through that frame. Every concept opens with three questions that locate where you actually stand, and your answers shape how deeply the Coach works the concept with you. Everyone begins with Module 1 — no skipping the baseline you only think you know.
Learn & Practice
Work each concept in conversation with the Coach — spoken or written — then practice it against realistic situations until it holds up.
Prove
Every concept ends in proof: answer the check cold and demonstrate the skill. Know it already? Test out and take credit immediately.
Capstone
Finish with two capstones — The Fenwick Control Pack for Module 1 and The Readiness Plan You Can Defend for Module 2 — that pull the whole course together, and earn the certificate.
What You'll Learn
The PMP exam does not ask whether you can recite a framework. It presents a short, pressured situation — a sponsor changing scope mid-flight, a team in conflict, a forecast slipping, a vendor failing — and asks what the project manager should do next, first, or best, with four answers that are often all plausible and only one that follows the exam's governing logic.
This course teaches that logic and the knowledge underneath it, together. You will learn the exam's published structure and its three domains — People, Process, and Business Environment — and how roughly half its content, as PMI publishes it, is framed in agile or hybrid terms. You will master the predictive core the exam still draws on: life cycles, process groups, baselines, and the knowledge areas that organise them.
You will work the full formula family the exam actually tests, with numbers that recompute exactly. You will learn agile and hybrid delivery as the exam frames them — not as slogans, but as a different allocation of planning, authority, and change.
And you will build the execution system that turns knowledge into a pass: a study plan fitted to a working life, a practice-exam review method that repairs reasoning rather than collecting scores, and a sitting-day method for time, triage, and endurance across a long exam.
What you will learn
- Describe the exam's published structure, domains, and weights, and plan preparation against them
- Assemble an eligibility application and audit-ready experience record at guidance level
- Read situational questions the way the exam builds them, and choose the next, first, or best action by governing logic
- Explain predictive life cycles, process groups, and knowledge areas, and tailor them to a case
- Compute and interpret earned value, forecasts, estimates, float, and communication channels — exactly, from stated inputs
- Apply agile and hybrid delivery as the exam frames them, and choose between approaches on a case's facts
- Handle risk, quality, procurement, stakeholder, and business-environment scenarios in the exam's terms
- Build a study system, review practice exams by reasoning error, and execute a timed sitting plan
Everything in the course
- All 18 concepts of PMP Exam Readiness, in 2 modules
- A starting-point check first — the Coach finds where you actually stand before teaching

- Your progress is saved as you go — stop anytime, resume where you left off
Built for the manager whose experience must become exam logic
PMP Exam Readiness is for working project managers preparing for a first attempt — who meet, or are close to meeting, PMI's published eligibility requirements and need exam logic, not another introduction to their own job — managers returning after a failed attempt, who need to find and repair the specific reasoning that cost them, agile practitioners moving into the credential, who need the predictive core, the baselines, and the formula family at exam depth, and predictive practitioners who need agile and hybrid delivery as the exam frames them,
at the weight the exam actually gives them.
This is a course in exam preparation in the Leadership & Management category. It assumes you already lead projects and can read a schedule, a budget, and a risk register; it assumes no prior exam-preparation course. Eligibility is taught at guidance level — what PMI publishes, what evidence to assemble, and where to check the current rule before you apply — because the authoritative source is always PMI's current published handbook, never this course.
If you already reason an area well, the test-out route in each concept lets you prove it and move faster — the bar does not drop; the route just gets shorter.
