Project Management

Signature Course No. 9 — A Signature AI Socratic Coaching Course.

An agentic, mastery-based AI learning platform.

A New Kind of Learning

Socratic coaching, delivered by an agentic AI coach.

Not a course you watch. An AI coach you work with.

The Lighthouse Coach begins by discovering how you think about the subject, teaches what is missing, and gives you realistic practice before asking you to prove that you can use it. You may test out of concepts you already understand, while capstones turn the learning into a practical plan, decision, conversation, or other real-world result.

The curriculum is deliberately authored; the AI delivers it through coaching. It is not an AI randomly generating lessons.

Meet The Lighthouse Coach

A coach that teaches by asking — not by lecturing

The Lighthouse Coach is an AI Socratic coach built on Cognosco Learning's Project Management course. It does not play videos at you. It holds a conversation: it asks you a question, listens to your answer, names the misconception it hears, affirms what you got right, and asks the next question — the way a great coach works in the room.

This course is built for working leads and managers: people handed a project because they are good at the work it contains, managers running a project inside an operations job, and experienced leads whose projects slip quietly — plans in their heads, status always greener than the facts. It is practical project management, taught for the next real project: the plan first, then the running of it. Module 1, Planning the Project: Purpose, Scope, and a Schedule You Can Defend (Concepts 1–9) — the charter, scope with an out list, deliverables with acceptance criteria, the breakdown, sequence, critical path, honest estimates, and a baseline — comes first; Module 2, Running the Project: People, Progress, Risk, and Change (Concepts 10–18) — stakeholders, kickoff, tracking, status people actually read, risk, mitigation, change, recovery, and closing well — builds on it. Every artifact you produce — the charter, the scope statement, the plan and its baseline, the risk register, the status report, the change decision, the close-out — is written to be usable on the real job. You can type your answers, or talk out loud: the Voice Coach speaks its questions and listens to your spoken replies, hands-free. The course is self-paced and always on — roughly 30 minutes per concept, about 9 hours in full, taken in as many sittings as you like. Learners who already know the material can test out concept by concept.

This is the ninth course in The Lighthouse Signature Series — the online counterpart to the one-day, in-person training Cognosco Learning has delivered since 2002.

The Method

Diagnose → Learn & Practice → Prove → Capstone

Every learner moves through the same discipline a Cognosco instructor would insist on in the room.

1

Diagnose

The Coach starts by finding out what you already know. Everyone begins with Module 1 — no skipping the foundations you only think you have.

2

Learn & Practice

Work each concept in conversation with the Coach — spoken or written — then practice it against realistic situations until it holds up.

3

Prove

Every concept ends in proof: answer the check cold and demonstrate the skill. Know it already? Test out and take credit immediately.

4

Capstone

Finish with two capstones — The Plan on One Table for Module 1 and The Rescue and the Close for Module 2 — that pull the whole course together, and earn the certificate.

The Course Content

What You'll Learn

Whether you are leading your first project or your fiftieth, the fundamentals of effective project management remain the same — and getting them right is the difference between delivering on time and watching deadlines slip. You will learn industry-standard tools and techniques for tracking progress, identifying risks early, and communicating project status with clarity and confidence. Who It's For

Built for people who run projects

Project Management is for first-time project leads — people handed a project because they are good at the work it contains, and discovering that leading the project is a different job from doing it — for managers with a project inside their operations job, like the clinic manager building out a new site or the operations lead moving a warehouse, who run projects a few times a year on habit and memory — and for experienced leads whose projects slip quietly, whose status is always greener than the facts, and who want a discipline that makes the slippage visible while it is still cheap to fix. It is also for organizations tired of the same pattern — deadlines negotiated in hope, scope that grows in whispers, risks that introduce themselves by firing — and ready to run projects on a plan, a register, and an honest status instead.

No prior coursework is assumed. The diagnosis at the start meets you where you are, and the test-outs make sure experienced learners are never forced to sit through what they can already prove.
