Resilience at Work
Signature Course No. 48 — A Signature AI Socratic Coaching Course.
A New Kind of Learning
Socratic coaching, delivered by an agentic AI coach.
Not a course you watch. An AI coach you work with.
The Lighthouse Coach begins by discovering how you think about the subject, teaches what is missing, and gives you realistic practice before asking you to prove that you can use it. You may test out of concepts you already understand, while capstones turn the learning into a practical plan, decision, conversation, or other real-world result.
The curriculum is deliberately authored; the AI delivers it through coaching. It is not an AI randomly generating lessons.
A coach that teaches by asking — not by lecturing
The Lighthouse Coach is an AI Socratic coach built on Cognosco Learning's Resilience at Work course, in the Personal Development category. It does not play videos at you. It holds a conversation: it asks you a question, listens to your answer, names the misconception it hears, affirms what you got right, and asks the next question — the way a great coach works in the room.
This is the course for professionals under sustained pressure — people whose work comes in long hard stretches rather than single hard days, managers and team leads whose own steadiness sets the weather for a whole team, and capable people after a setback who have not yet decided what it taught. It works in the order the work has to happen: first, Module 1 — Hold Under Pressure: Read the Load, Answer the Week — treat resilience as a practice rather than a trait, read your load honestly in two columns, tell the bad week from the long-quarter trend on evidence, place recovery inside the design of the work, pace by seasons, name what is hard plainly, reframe without pretending, shrink the whole to the next sound step, and draw your help line in advance, finishing with The Load Audit; then, Module 2 — Hold Together: Setbacks, Teams, and the Long Quarter — run the first hour after a setback without a second injury, learn from it in an after-action that ends in change, say workload honestly on a team, arrange mutual cover that helps without carrying, hold the leader's weather honestly, protect the core, renegotiate deadlines, scope, and sequence in the open, repair after friction, and write your resilience standard, finishing with The Long Quarter Plan. You finish by proving the whole course — in The Load Audit and in The Long Quarter Plan. You can type your answers, or talk out loud: the Voice Coach speaks its questions and listens to your spoken replies, hands-free. The course is self-paced and always on — roughly 30 minutes per concept, about 9 hours in full, taken in as many sittings as you like. Learners who already know the material can test out concept by concept.
The fence, stated plainly. This is a work-practice course — habits, mindset practices, and team practices only — not medicine, not therapy, and not a substitute for care. It does not diagnose anything. It does not treat anything. It makes no claim that any practice here will cure, heal, or fix a health condition, and it prescribes no sleep hours, no diet, no supplements, and no exercise program. If difficulty persists, if it begins to interfere with daily functioning, or if there is any concern about safety, the course stops and professional help is the next step — taught in full in Concept 9 and written into the standard and the plan you build. Both capstones produce real artifacts — a Load Audit of your own hard stretch and a Long Quarter Plan for the next one — not just ideas about resilience. The course also makes no claims it cannot keep: it prints no statistics, studies, percentages, or citations anywhere; resilience is learned from your own recorded weeks, read honestly.
This is the forty-eighth course in The Lighthouse Signature Series — the online counterpart to the one-day, in-person training Cognosco Learning has delivered since 2002.

Every learner moves through the same discipline a Cognosco instructor would insist on in the room.
Read the Load
The Coach starts by examining the load you are actually carrying — its size, its duration, its invisible parts, and how you have been running it, as they stand. Everyone begins with Module 1 — no skipping the foundations you only think you have.
Learn & Practice
Work each concept in conversation with the Coach — spoken or written — then practice it against realistic situations until it holds up.
Prove
Every concept ends in proof: answer the check cold and demonstrate the skill. Know it already? Test out and take credit immediately.
Capstone
Finish with two capstones — The Load Audit for Module 1 and The Long Quarter Plan for Module 2 — that pull the whole course together, and earn the certificate.
What You'll Learn
Some work is hard for a day. This course is about the other kind: the quarter where the pressure does not lift, the stretch where a setback lands on top of a load already at the line. It teaches resilience as a practice, not a personality: read your load honestly and tell a bad week from a long-quarter trend; treat recovery as part of the work and pace for the stretch you are in; reframe setbacks into a truer story, never into forced cheer, and shrink the overwhelming whole to the next sound step. And because nobody holds alone for long, it builds the team practices that carry weight in the open — workload honesty, mutual cover, after-action learning, and renegotiation before the breaking point. It is a work-practice course only — habits, mindset practices, and team practices — with a clear help line drawn in advance for the point where professional care is the next step.

Built for people who work under sustained pressure
Resilience at Work is for professionals under sustained pressure — whose work comes in long hard stretches rather than single hard days, who get through every week and recover from none of them; managers and team leads — whose own steadiness sets the weather for a whole team, and whose silence about load teaches everyone under them to be silent about theirs; teams that carry shared weight — where the load is real, uneven, and mostly unspoken; and capable people after a setback — doing the work again but not yet decided what the setback taught, what it changed, and what it did not: read your load honestly, pace for the stretch, answer setbacks with a truer story, and hold together as a team.
The fence applies here, too. This is a work-practice course — habits, mindset practices, and team practices only — not medicine, not therapy, and not a substitute for care; it does not diagnose anything, it does not treat anything, and where difficulty persists, interferes with daily functioning, or raises any concern about safety, professional help is the next step. The course assumes nothing but a working life; it does not assume anyone ever taught you to read your own load.
