Flourishing at Work
Signature Course No. 101 — A Signature AI Socratic Coaching Course.
A New Kind of Learning
Socratic coaching, delivered by an agentic AI coach.
Not a course you watch. An AI coach you work with.
The Lighthouse Coach begins by discovering how you think about the subject, teaches what is missing, and gives you realistic practice before asking you to prove that you can use it. You may test out of concepts you already understand, while capstones turn the learning into a practical plan, decision, conversation, or other real-world result.
The curriculum is deliberately authored; the AI delivers it through coaching. It is not an AI randomly generating lessons.
A coach that teaches by asking — not by lecturing
The Lighthouse Coach is an AI Socratic coach built on Cognosco Learning's Flourishing at Work course, in the Personal Effectiveness & Well-Being category. It does not play videos at you. It holds a conversation: it asks you a question, listens to your answer, names the misconception it hears, affirms what you got right, and asks the next question — the way a great coach works in the room.
This is the course for anyone who ends most weeks drained in a way sleep does not fix, people whose work is fine on paper and empty in practice, the disengaged and the quietly quitting in their heads, managers and team leads who can feel a team's morale slipping, and anyone approaching burnout who wants to act early.
It works in the order the work has to happen: first, Module 1 — What Well-Being Actually Is: The Science, Minus the Myths — work through Concepts 1–9, finishing with Reading Your Own Week; then, Module 2 — Building It: Practices, Relationships, and a Week That Sustains You — work through Concepts 10–18, finishing with Your Sustainable Week.
You finish by proving the whole course — in Reading Your Own Week and in Your Sustainable Week. You can type your answers, or talk out loud: the Voice Coach speaks its questions and listens to your spoken replies, hands-free. The course is self-paced and always on — roughly 30 minutes per concept, about 9 hours in full, taken in as many sittings as you like. Learners who already know the material can test out concept by concept.
There are no statistics, no percentages, and no study citations in these pages — not because evidence does not matter, but because a course should never put a number in a student's hands that the course cannot stand behind. Where a number would usually go, this course puts your own tracked experience. Cognosco already offers a course on physical health and vitality. This is not that course.
This course never competes with it: nothing here prescribes exercise, diet, or medical care, and where the body enters — sleep, breaks, recovery — it enters as a condition of working life, not as a health program.
It teaches established ideas in plain everyday terms, under no one's trademark and no one's branded model — the ingredients of a good working life are older than any program that packages them, and this course teaches the ingredients, not the packaging. It also refuses the two cheapest promises in this field: that well-being is a matter of thinking positive, and that an employer can install it with perks while leaving the work itself untouched.
And the boundary: This course teaches working well-being for people who are fundamentally functioning — strained, slipping, in need of design and support. It is not treatment for illness. If what you are reading in your pattern is persistent inability to function, despair that does not lift, or health — mental or physical — genuinely failing, the correct next step is a professional: a doctor, a qualified counselor, your organization's support services where they exist.
Both capstones produce real artifacts — a tracked-week audit, an ingredients map, and a redesign brief for a real working week, and your own personal well-being-at-work blueprint — the designed week, the practices, and the early-warning plan, written for your real job — not just ideas about well-being.
This is the one hundred and first course in The Lighthouse Signature Series — the online counterpart to the one-day, in-person learning Cognosco Learning has delivered since 2002.

Diagnose → Learn & Practice → Prove → Capstone
Every learner moves through the same discipline a Cognosco instructor would insist on in the room.
Diagnose
The Coach starts where the course starts: with the climate, not the weather. A mood is an hour's snapshot; well-being is the pattern your working life makes over weeks and months — absorption, meaning, connection, completion, recovery. Every concept opens with three questions that locate where you actually stand, and your answers shape how deeply the Coach works the concept with you. Everyone begins with Module 1 — no skipping the foundations you only think you have.
Learn & Practice
Work each concept in conversation with the Coach — spoken or written — then practice it against realistic situations until it holds up.
Prove
Every concept ends in proof: answer the check cold and demonstrate the skill. Know it already? Test out and take credit immediately.
Capstone
Finish with two capstones — Reading Your Own Week for Module 1 and Your Sustainable Week for Module 2 — that pull the whole course together, and earn the certificate.
What You'll Learn
Most people know the difference between a working day that leaves them drained and flat and a working day that leaves them tired but well — and most have never been shown what actually makes the difference.
This course is about the psychological side of well-being at work: the meaning in the work, the feeling of being genuinely absorbed in it, the small good moments that lift a day, the people who make a workplace feel human, the satisfaction of finishing something that matters, and the recovery that keeps all of it possible week after week.
You will learn what actually drives well-being on the job and what merely looks as if it does, build daily practices that raise energy, mood, and meaning, strengthen connection and appreciation in your working relationships, and design your role and your week for sustainable engagement instead of slow burnout.
Nothing here depends on your employer buying anything, and nothing here asks you to pretend. It works from your own tracked experience of your own real job, one concept at a time.

Built for the person living the week
Flourishing at Work is for anyone who ends most weeks drained in a way sleep does not fix — not broken, not in crisis, just steadily flatter than they used to be, and unsure when it happened, people whose work is fine on paper and empty in practice — decent job, decent pay, decent colleagues, and a growing sense that the days add up to very little they can point to, the disengaged and the quietly quitting in their heads — who still do the work, still show up,
but stopped bringing their best attention to it a long time ago and would like it back, managers and team leads who can feel a team's morale slipping — who sense that connection and appreciation have gone thin and want honest ways to rebuild them, not slogans, and anyone approaching burnout who wants to act early — who can see the signs in themselves and wants to redesign the week they actually live before the week redesigns them.
There are no statistics, no percentages, and no study citations in these pages — not because evidence does not matter, but because a course should never put a number in a student's hands that the course cannot stand behind. Cognosco already offers a course on physical health and vitality. This is not that course.
This course teaches working well-being for people who are fundamentally functioning — strained, slipping, in need of design and support. It is not treatment for illness. This is a Personal Effectiveness & Well-Being course and it assumes nothing but a working life: no earlier Signature Course, no management title, no particular job.
If you work with other people, in work that sometimes lifts you and sometimes drains you, you have everything this course requires. It works from your own tracked experience of your own real job, one concept at a time — nothing here depends on your employer buying anything, and nothing here asks you to pretend.
