YouTube & Video Marketing
Signature Course No. 134 — A Signature AI Socratic Coaching Course.
A New Kind of Learning
Socratic coaching, delivered by an agentic AI coach.
Not a course you watch. An AI coach you work with.
The Lighthouse Coach begins by discovering how you think about the subject, teaches what is missing, and gives you realistic practice before asking you to prove that you can use it. You may test out of concepts you already understand, while capstones turn the learning into a practical plan, decision, conversation, or other real-world result.
The curriculum is deliberately authored; the AI delivers it through coaching. It is not an AI randomly generating lessons.
A coach that teaches by asking — not by lecturing
The Lighthouse Coach is an AI Socratic coach built on Cognosco Learning's YouTube & Video Marketing course, in the Sales, Service & Revenue category. It does not play videos at you. It holds a conversation: it asks you a question, listens to your answer, names the misconception it hears, affirms what you got right, and asks the next question — the way a great coach works in the room.
You work on one consistent set of checkable figures throughout — one fictional channel, one baseline, stated once and used everywhere: the Coach teaches and questions, you position, package, compute, and plan, and what you produce is what gets checked.
This is the course for owners and founders whose business could teach what it sells, marketing leads in small and mid-sized businesses who own the channel's results, creators working inside a business — on camera, behind it, or both — and consultants and freelancers who run or advise client channels and must explain, in numbers a client can check, what is working and what is not.
It works in the order the chain itself runs: first, Module 1 — Getting Chosen, Clicked, and Watched — work through Concepts 1–9, finishing with The Growth Plan; then, Module 2 — Turning Attention into a Business — work through Concepts 10–18, finishing with The Funnel Audit and Ninety-Day Plan.
You finish by proving the whole course — in The Growth Plan and in The Funnel Audit and Ninety-Day Plan. You can type your answers, or talk out loud: the Voice Coach speaks its questions and listens to your spoken replies, hands-free. The course is self-paced and always on — roughly 30 minutes per concept, about 9 hours in full, taken in as many sittings as you like. Learners who already know the material can test out concept by concept.
This course contains no algorithm folklore stated as fact: no threshold, boost, penalty, posting-hour effect, or tag effect is asserted anywhere, and the recommendation system is described only in honest, viewer-satisfaction terms. Every figure belongs to one fictional channel whose baseline is stated once and used consistently, or to an invented scenario whose figures are stated inside it — and the actuals are never conflated with projections.
Where platform facts can change — Partner Program thresholds, feature availability, eligibility rules — they are stated as currently published and hedged as such. No ad-revenue rate is asserted, and there are no outcome guarantees: the course builds a channel asset and the arithmetic to judge it.
Both capstones produce real artifacts — a one-quarter growth plan, and a full funnel audit with a ninety-day growth-and-revenue plan, built on the channel's own numbers, ready to run — not just ideas about video.
This is the one hundred and thirty-fourth course in The Lighthouse Signature Series — the online counterpart to the one-day, in-person learning Cognosco Learning has delivered since 2002.

Diagnose → Learn & Practice → Prove → Capstone
Every learner moves through the same discipline a Cognosco instructor would insist on in the room.
Diagnose
The Coach starts where the course starts: with the viewer, not the upload. Nobody watches a video they never clicked, and nobody recommends a video nobody finished — and if the channel is not positioned first, every later number is read wrong. Everyone begins with Module 1 — no skipping the positioning and packaging you only think you have.
Learn & Practice
Work each concept in conversation with the Coach — spoken or written — then practice it against realistic situations until it holds up.
Prove
Every concept ends in proof: answer the check cold and demonstrate the skill. Know it already? Test out and take credit immediately.
Capstone
Finish with two capstones — The Growth Plan for Module 1 and The Funnel Audit and Ninety-Day Plan for Module 2 — that pull the whole course together, and earn the certificate.
What You'll Learn
YouTube is not a social feed you post to and forget. It is the world's largest place where people go to learn how to do something, decide what to buy, and spend real attention — twenty minutes at a time, not twenty seconds — on a business that taught them something useful. For a business, that makes a YouTube channel a different kind of asset from every other channel it runs: a library.
A good video does not peak on publication day and die by Friday. It gets found in search two years later, suggested beside other videos for months, and watched by a person in the exact week they are ready to buy.
This course teaches you to build that asset end to end: how to position a channel so a stranger understands in seconds who it is for, what the recommendation system honestly rewards, how titles and thumbnails win or lose the click, the simple arithmetic that connects impressions to views to leads to customers, how to structure a video so people stay, how to read retention and the handful of analytics that matter without lying to yourself, what Shorts and long-form each do and cannot do, how a steady cadence and a back catalog compound,
how comments and community become a business asset rather than a chore, and how a viewer becomes an email subscriber, a customer, and eventually revenue — including the basics of monetization, stated carefully, because platform rules change.
What you will learn
- Position a business channel around a specific viewer, a specific problem, and a repeatable promise
- Explain, in honest qualitative terms, what YouTube's recommendation system rewards — and what no one outside YouTube can claim to know about it
- Write titles and design thumbnails that win the click without promising what the video does not deliver
- Run the channel arithmetic: impressions × click-through rate = views, and views × conversion = leads and customers
- Structure a video — hook, promise, payoff — and read retention and average view duration without deceiving yourself
- Distinguish search traffic from suggested traffic, and Shorts from long-form, and give each its proper job
- Build a publishing cadence and a back catalog that compound, and read the few analytics in YouTube Studio that actually decide your next move
- Turn comments and community into a business asset, capture leads, build the path from viewer to customer, and state the basics of monetization as currently published

Built for the person the channel landed on
YouTube & Video Marketing is for owners and founders whose business could teach what it sells and who need a channel that produces customers, not just compliments, marketing leads in small and mid-sized businesses who must decide where the next hour and the next dollar go, creators working inside a business who need the judgment to make each video earn its place, and consultants and freelancers who run or advise client channels and must explain, in numbers a client can check, what is working and what is not.
This course assumes you can use the internet, upload a video, and find YouTube Studio, in the Sales, Service & Revenue category: it assumes no existing channel, no camera gear beyond a phone, and no prior marketing study. Everything else — positioning, packaging, arithmetic, structure, analytics, conversion — is built here, concept by concept, on one running channel you will come to know very well.
